How To Paint Pottery At Color City?
At Color-City, we are proud to offer a full range of items for you to choose from.
We recommend approximately 2 hours to comfortably complete your piece.
However, this can vary based on the age ranges and the size of the piece chosen.

Design - Paint - Drying - Glazing - Firing - Pick up
Step 1
Choice Your Item
Take a look around our studio and pick your favourite piece to paint.
(The price varies based on the selected piece)
Step 2
Pick your ideal colors and start painting
We will provide all the painting supplies. Allowing you to design and paint the chosen one. We suggest 3-4 coats for full opacity and overall coverage. Let the paint dry between coats.

Base Coat Completed....Details Next!

We have precise tubbing paint bottles and dotting tools for more articulated motion.

Step 4
Drying and Firing
The piece is left with our studio staff as they are air-dried for at least 24 hours to 72 hours to dry properly. Then the pottery piece will be dipped in a clear glaze before going into the kiln for glaze fire.
Step 5
Pick Up
​
Most orders are completed within 7-10 days. However, during the holidays there may be some delays due to the volume of pottery we process.
